
IT for Students
From your first day onwards you will be required to bring with you a device, such as a laptop or tablet, on which you will be able to work throughout the day. Please note that mobile phones will not be sufficient. You will also be required to access the internet whilst on campus, you can do this through Eduroam or The Cloud.
To connect to WiFi using Eduroam:
1. Forget eduroam wifi if used previously
If you have previously used eduroam wifi on your personal device, the app may not install correctly until you forget the eduroam network from your wifi settings.

2. Set up eduroam wifi using eduroam CAT
- On your phone, tablet or laptop, open your web browser: Go to cat.eduroam.org/
- Click on the button to install and follow the instructions
- Enter your full University email address, username@student.le.ac.uk as the username and enter your password
Manual setup
If you are unable to get eduroam CAT to work, you can access the manual instructions:
- Connect to the Setup-UniOfLeic-Wifi network on your device
- Go to wifi.le.ac.uk for instructions for how to setup your device
- Enter your full University email address, username@student.le.ac.uk as the username and enter your password

To connect to WiFi using The Cloud:
Visitor wifi provided by The Cloud (Sky WiFi)
- On your laptop, tablet of phone connect to _The Cloud network
- A web browser should open to allow you to register or login (if you have already registered with The Cloud). If a web browser does not appear, open your preferred web browser and navigate to any web page. The Cloud landing page should open as above.

In-Person Support
Staff-focussed IT support is provided at the Digital Service Desk on the Ground Floor of the Charles Wilson Building, Monday to Friday between 9.00am and 5.00pm.
Student-focussed IT support is provided in the Information Hub on the Ground Floor of the David Wilson Library, during opening hours.
