Getting to know you – Your Professional Autobiography
We would like you to write a professional autobiography. This will help us to get to know you and will also be shared with your Teacher Mentor before you go into each school placement. Your autobiography will be developed over the course of your PGCE, as you gain experience and develop your understanding. Ultimately, it will help to form the basis of your personal statement, ready for when you begin to apply for your first teaching post.
To support you we have provided a template and an exemplar autobiography, which can both be found in this folder. Aim to tell us a little about your background – education, experience, interests – and what has motivated you to pursue a career in primary education. Do not worry if you have limited experience of the primary classroom, your philosophy of education and what you would like to achieve are just as important.
Your autobiography should be no longer than one side of A4. The document should be a word document and you will be asked to upload it at the start of the course.
